Tower Lifts top the class with a passenger lift in London

Here at Tower Lifts, we’re pleased to announce the completion of an installation of a passenger lift in London, under contract from the London Borough of Redbridge Council.

The lift installation was for Glade Primary School who required a Part M Compliant Passenger Lift, with pit & headroom restrictions, and a glazed external enclosure. The lift was required to travel from street level to the reception area, providing access to the school’s main foyer.

When we were first contacted with this project and briefed on the requirement for an EN:81:41 Passenger Lift for a London school building, we had no idea how much of a turnkey project the job would become.

After discussion with the school, and Redbridge Council, we agreed to undertake all the builders’ work, the construction of the lift pit, the drainage work required, as well as the reconstruction of the path and landing area after installation. An exciting project, we couldn’t wait to get started.

Normally, the installation of a passenger lift in London often involves strict and lengthy planning assessments as well as building restrictions.

However, we planned carefully and the installation of this lift was remarkably quick and easy, with minimal disruption to the building, staff and students. Initial feedback has been fantastic, and the school are thrilled with their impressive new lift system.
