Tower Lifts installers have experienced a variety of challenging locations, but a Grade 1 listed building is a unique proposition. The internal walls, flooring and stairs over 5 floors had to be fully protected from scuffs, chips or scrapes before we were able to start work.

We were replacing an existing passenger lift, which meant that the lift shaft was already in place. Our task was to supply and install the new lift without damaging the internal architecture in the process. It’s a discipline we adhere to on any install, to be honest, but in a house that was built in 1825, you feel the pressure!

The prestigious Lillehall National Sports and Conferencing Centre was originally built as a hunting lodge and family residence for the Duke of Sutherland. Now the secluded surroundings provide a focused training environment for elite athletes, preparing for globally competitive events including the Olympics and the Paralympic Games.

Recent additions to the excellent facilities offered by Lillehall include a 5-court sports hall, a changing pavilion, a training room for physiotherapy and first-aid, a new strength and conditioning gym and an accommodation block. These enhancements are made possible by an investment of £11 million from Sport England.

Tower Lifts Passenger Lifts Installations

In the context of ongoing site developments, Tower Lifts is delighted to have been asked to provide two new passenger lifts. We will be installing a 2 stop passenger lift, and a 4 stop passenger lift for the centre. These will offer vertical transport for visitors to the conference centre facilities, and athletes staying in the accommodation, whilst using the training facilities.

We’re expecting that the lifts we install will experience a consistent footfall and sporadically heavy use. As with all our lift installations, we’ll be designing lifts that are durable, and provide consistently excellent performance for passengers, whilst complying with the most rigorous safety laws and standards. The lifts will be finished to seamlessly integrate with the style and décor of their operating environment.
