Screw Driven Platform Lift Installation for East London School

Tower Lifts has just completed a wheelchair lift installation at the Gatehouse School in Bethnal Green London. This independent school is situated in a Victorian building which has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. Providing access for all the school’s pupils and staff was a priority for our client and so our engineering team assessed the site and advised that the best solution would be a screw driven platform lift.

Vertical Platform Lifts

The screw driven platform lift is ideal for older buildings where there is no room for a traditional lift shaft. The vertical platform lift has its own shaft made up of up to six screw driven units allowing for up to six landing doors in the course of the hydraulic vertical transport. This particular type of lift access is quick to install as there are no major building works involved, and it provides a flexible and efficient solution for buildings unsuited to standard passenger lifts. Most important for the School, the platform lift is ideal for wheelchair access, or for passengers with mobility or visual disabilities.
