Platform Lifts Installers in Northamptonshire

As a Northamptonshire lift company we are lucky enough to get to work in a variety of environments. From the busy urban buzz of Kettering, Corby and Northampton, to the more rural delights of Oundle and Market Harborough. We carry out a range of vertical transport installations across Northamptonshire, including passenger lifts, and goods lifts. Our reputation as leading platform lifts installers in in the county, however, means that much of our work is about creating access for wheelchair users.

Where are Platform Lifts Installed?

Innovative platform lift technology has allowed lift designers and installers to enhance access for millions of mobility impaired and wheelchair users across the UK. The Tower Lifts team has worked with platform lifts for nearly two decades now, installing them in a range of different locations:

  • Residential. Platform lifts help homeowners adapt their environment for ease of access. They’re also popular with older people wishing to future-proof their homes.
  • Retail. The Equality Act 2010 requires that access is provided for disabled users of public resources. We are able to adapt platform lift technology to fit the vailable retail space, large or small.
  • Commercial. Platform lifts help workers access offices and school children access education. Whatever the environment, we can design the ideal bespoke solution.
  • Heritage and Leisure. Many of the platform lifts we design and install in historical properties, or museums, are customised to seamlessly integrate with the surrounding décor.

Types of Platform Lift Installations

The flexible platform lift can be installed indoors or outdoors in just about any environment. Tower Lifts designers regularly provide bespoke designs where our clients have specific requirements, or there are spatial challenges to be overcome. There are 4 types of platform lifts which are the basis for our design and installation work in Northamptonshire.

  1. Straight Inclined Lift. This lift is designed to carry a wheelchair up a straight flight of stairs. The platform appears when required, and retracts to leave the stairway clear if not in use.
  2. Curved Inclined Lift. If your stairway is curved, or even spiral, an inclined platform lift can be designed to its specific dimensions.
  3. Step Lift. This platform lift provides access for short flights of steps, or split level flooring. The platform can be completely camouflaged to match its surroundings, indoor or out.
  4. Vertical Platform Lift. This looks like a traditional cabin lift, except that there is space for just one wheelchair. The controls are customised for wheelchair users, and the cabin can be opaque or transparent.
