Platform Lifts Installers in London

Platform Lift Company

As a London lift company one of our priorities is making the city as inclusive for wheelchair users as possible. We help mobility impaired visitors to access an art exhibition or enjoy the delights of Oxford Street shopping. As the leading platform lift installers in London, Tower Lifts provides disability access to homes, offices, retail and commercial buildings across the city.

Who Uses Platform Lifts?

Platform lifts are a form of vertical transport developed specifically for wheelchair users. This innovative and adaptable technology allows the Tower Lifts team to provide high-quality access in virtually any environment, indoors or out. For over 15 years we’ve been installing a range of bespoke platform lifts:

  • Retail. The Equality Act 2010 requires that wheelchair users are able to access retail outlets. We adapt platform lift technology to fit the retail space available.
  • Commercial. Platform lift technology helps employees access offices and students access schools. No matter the environment, Tower Lifts can design the ideal bespoke solution.
  • Residential. Platform lifts are used to adapt residential environments for wheelchair access. They’re also widely used as part of ‘future-proofing’ strategies for family homes.
  • Heritage and Leisure. Many of our bespoke platform lifts are installed in heritage properties, theatres or galleries, and are customised to integrate with the surrounding décor.

Types of Platform Lift Installations

The flexibility the platform lift affords means that it can be installed outside or inside buildings. Many of our designs are bespoke in order to overcome spatial challenges, or to meet specific requirements our clients have. There are 4 types of platform lifts which are the basis for our platform lift design and installation in London.

  1. Straight Inclined Lift. Where the stairs are the primary mode of access, an inclined lift provides a safe and elegant solution. The platform is folded away when not in use, and can be easily accessed without the passenger leaving their wheelchair.
  2. Curved Inclined Lift. The platform lift can be designed to hug the contours of your stairway if it’s curved, or even spiral.
  3. Step Lift. Providing access for short flights of steps, or split-level flooring, the step lift is a simple and effective solution that can be seamlessly integrated with the surrounding aesthetic.
  4. Vertical Platform Lift. A cabin lift that looks like a traditional passenger lift except that it is designed specifically for wheelchair users.
