Lift Engineers London

The Tower Lifts design and installation team has been working in London for nearly two decades now, and we’ve gained a reputation for being the ‘go to’ London lift company for beautiful and reliable bespoke elevators. When you’re constantly busy, it’s easy to forget the sheer range of projects over the years, so here are 9 of our favourites, selected by our dedicated team of lift engineers in London.

London Passenger Lifts

  • London, Moorgate Hotel – We created a 9 stop, 13 person bespoke passenger lift for this upmarket, urban hotel. It was designed to the architect’s specifications, with adjacent entrance, customised cabin, and reduced headroom.
  • Royal Academy of Arts – This prestigious project involved two lifts, one for passengers, and the other was a goods lift required to move works of art over 4 floors. The lifts were required to integrate seamlessly with the stunning interiors of this 17th century building.
  • Private House, Marlborough Place – We installed a 3-stop machinery directive passenger lift for this private house as the owner didn’t have the required height or pit depth for a traditional lift. The lift travels at a maximum speed of 0.15 metres per second and features telescopic doors.

Service Lifts

  • Selfridges Food Hall – Our lift engineers in London were asked to install a duplex lift between the loading bay and the iconic Food Hall. The bespoke lift has an upper weight limit of 2000kg, and provides reliable and smooth transport for both goods and staff members.
  • Zheng Restaurant – this elegant Chelsea-based restaurant asked us to design a dumb waiter lift to ensure that their Chinese-Malaysian chef-created dishes arrived at diners’ tables without delay and at the optimum temperature. Dumb waiters solve the problem of staff having to transport food up busy stairways.
  • Size? – this busy shoe shop was looking for a way to move its stock quickly and reliably to the shop floor without taking assistants away from customer-facing duties. Our London lift engineers replaced an old dumb waiter installation with a new 5 stop model which transports goods from the basement to all 4 floors.

Platform Lifts

  • Beauty Workshop, Selfridges – We were asked to create a custom-built platform lift with glass and metal finishes, to help visitors with impaired mobility to navigate a small staircase leading to the Beauty Workshop hub. We were excited to be able to enhance access to these luxurious beauty treatments and luxurious products.
  • Barbican Arts Centre – This global performing arts centre required a hidden/integrated platform lift to help wheelchair users negotiate a short flight of steps. The integrated lift is designed for seamless incorporation into the surrounding aesthetic and the elegant lift mechanism provides a smooth transition from one floor to another.
  • 10 Trinity Square – This was a delightful challenge for our lift engineers in London. We were asked to create a bespoke circular platform lift for the Rotunda Lounge. It was required to reveal the grand piano at intervals when a pianist would entertain the clientele on the upper level.
