Hotel Lifts

Visualise the lobby of a top flight hotel and the elevator will probably take centre stage. The hotel lift has long been an iconic presence in Hollywood classics such as North by Northwest and The Shining. Even away from the cameras it retains its status as the hub of hotel life. Hoteliers know that if your hotel lift is reliable, your guests will hardly notice the service it’s providing. Equally, they won’t easily forget the lift that clanks, creaks and takes 5 minutes to arrive!

The Hotel Lift Experience

The early novelty of the hotel elevator has now largely given way to the pragmatics of a reliable, comfortable passenger experience. In the US however, hotel owners are beginning to capitalise of the communal moment passengers share in a hotel lift. The Marriot chain has turned some of its lifts into photo booths replete with selfie props, and one Las Vegas hotel lift features a series of video art pieces commissioned by the management.

Installing Bespoke Hotel Lifts

Whilst UK hotels still have a way to go in the lift entertainment department, the emphasis has long been on high quality service for guests. To this end, all the hotel lifts we design and install are bespoke. The range of lifts we are regularly asked for include:

Passenger Lifts – manufactured and installed in accordance with the strictest safety laws, designed for durability and passenger comfort, and styled to integrate with the hotel’s ambiance.

Bespoke Scenic Lifts – high performance glazed, scenic lifts offering panoramic views, delivering a unique passenger experience without compromising on safety or durability.

Platform Lifts – the platform lift is becoming integral in ensuring that the building is inclusive. They’re particularly useful for short flights of stairs or public spaces with split level flooring.

Bespoke Lift Designs for London Hotels

Tower Lifts has recently completed the design and installation of two very different hotels in the UK capital. The 5 star Moorgate hotel asked us to design a bespoke 13 person passenger lift to carry guests through 9 floors of the luxury hotel. The boutique St Paul’s hotel in Hammersmith is housed in a dramatic Victorian Gothic building. We were asked to design and install a 3 stop lift, utilising the existing lift shaft. This necessitated a derogation order for a low pit lift.

An Experienced Hotel Lift Company

Over the past decade, Tower Lifts has become the ‘go to’ company for elegant lift design that reflects the ethos and aesthetic of its surroundings. Most important to us, though, is our emphasis on  designs and installations that serve passengers’ needs and prioritise passengers’ safety. We are a hugely skilled and experienced team; we relish a challenge, and have yet to find the architectural conditions that can beat us.

Maintenance is Key to Hotel Lifts

Having a beautiful passenger lift at the heart of your hotel is important, but having a reliable guest elevator is crucial. When installing a hotel lift we always recommend a bespoke maintenance package to ensure ongoing performance excellence. Our annual maintenance checks ensure that guests receive the very best vertical transport over the months and years they continue to visit.

Tower Lifts carry out design and installation on a varied range of lifts throughout the UK including:
