Home Platform Lifts
Home Platform Lifts
One day, when the history of the platform lift is written, it will be recognised as a major force for change in the lives of million of people. This innovative, affordable technology has made it possible for vertical transport to be installed in virtually any home, no matter the size or age of the property. It means that wheelchair users can manage stairs independently, and families can plan effectively for an old age spent in the family home.
Over the past two decades, the Tower Lifts design and installation team have provided vertical transport solutions for hundreds of clients in their homes. Many of them joke with us that they never dreamed they’d enjoy the luxury of a lift in their home. Most of them are astounded at the speed and cost-effectiveness of the installation.

A Choice of Home Platform Lifts
Stairs are the challenge to overcome if you use a wheelchair, or have impaired mobility.
Platform lift technology provides a number of ways to deal with this:
- Straight Inclined Platform Lift. For simple, straight staircases, this platform lift offers a high performance form of vertical transport from one floor to another. The platform is large enough to take a wheelchair, and the technology is designed for frequent use. Clients can expect durable, sustained quality of performance over a number of years.
- Curved Inclined Platform Lift. Many families we’ve spoken to are worried that a curved staircase means ruling out an inclined lift. This is not the case; we can design and install lifts for any shape of staircase, without compromising on its essential dimensions. We even design platform lifts for spiral staircases.
- Integrated Platform Lift. Internal staircases aren’t the only challenge for wheelchair users. Many clients have split level gardens which they want to be able to access. An integrated lift helps with this. Its elegant, bespoke design allows for transport up short flights of steps (internally or externally), and it can be finished to integrate seamlessly with its surroundings.
- Vertical Platform Lift. This looks like a traditional lift, but it doesn’t require a shaft for installation. The modular design can be used in small or large domestic spaces, providing safe, high performance access between up to five floors. These small lifts for the home are fitted with safety features and can accommodate a wheelchair, or two standing passengers.
Installing a Dumbwaiter Lift
Platform lifts appear in all shapes and sizes. Dumbwaiter lifts are small goods lifts that can carry food, laundry, or shopping between floors of your home. It’s a waist high installation, traditionally, and this can be adjusted to a height that is right for you. This simple lift is ideal if your kitchen is on a different floor from your dining room, or if you need help moving household items between floors.
