A lot has changed in Earl’s Court, London, over the past couple of decades. Back in the 90s it was beloved of backpackers looking for reasonably priced hostels, and places to eat cheaply. Now it’s cleaned up its act and is snapping at the heels of its fashionable neighbours in Kensington. There are now numerous small hotels, elegantly located in quiet, leafy Victorian Streets, just minutes from the busy Cromwell Road.

The Tower Lifts installation team enjoyed working in this central location. We were installing a passenger lift for the Oxford Hotel, located at the heart of Earl’s Court. Situated in a quiet, residential street, the hotel offers 90 guest rooms over five floors. A beautiful wrought iron staircase forms the central access point, and the owners wanted to enhance access by adding a lift.

Bespoke Passenger Lift Installation

The Oxford Hotel wanted an 8 person passenger lift which would travel through the 5 floors of guest accommodation. The installation was scheduled to enable the hotel to function as normal, and our team worked to ensure that there was minimal disruption to the business. The lift was designed for durability, given the heavy use that we expected it to receive. As with all our installations, passenger safety was our driving consideration.
