Irene House, Balham

Irene House in Balham, a chic Art Deco building originally from the 1940s, once housed government offices in the 1950s and 60s. Now transformed into 84 luxury apartments, Tower Lifts proudly played a pivotal role in this conversion. We installed a 6-stop, 8-person elevator.

The lift cabin draws inspiration from the building’s Art Deco heritage. Bold geometric shapes and vibrant colours define the elevator cabin. Rich brown veneer lines the inner walls and the lift floor features a striking black and white Art Deco geometric design.

Incorporating period elements like lift signage and directional arrows, the cabin also embraces the modern with a digital display providing floor information, energy consumption, and travel speed data.

The Hoxton Hotel, Shoreditch

The Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch, founded in 2006 on a former car park site, has evolved into a global boutique brand with locations in Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, and Downtown LA. The Shoreditch branch has a 24-hour lobby, which creates a vibrant local atmosphere.

Tower Lifts proudly partners with this innovative ‘open house’ brand. We were entrusted with the replacement of the hotel’s two passenger lifts, a logistical challenge we handled seamlessly, drawing from our extensive experience in prestigious London hotels.

These two lifts, tailored to the hotel’s aesthetic, feature a dark wood lattice interior, intricately patterned inlaid tiled floors, and an elegant mirror, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Kew Gardens TreeTop Walkway

Kew Gardens, London’s vast UNESCO world heritage site spanning 120 hectares, features the awe-inspiring Treetop Walkway. Elevated 18 metres above the ground, it offers an up-close encounter with magnificent trees.

For wheelchair users and those with mobility challenges, the 118-step ascent to the walkway posed an obstacle. To enhance accessibility, Tower Lifts was engaged to install a scenic glass lift.
