2 Stop Screw Driven Wheelchair Platform Lift for London College

Lift technology has remained at the cutting-edge ever since its initial development in the middle of the nineteenth century; perhaps that’s why we’re always excited to be working with organisations and businesses that are providing innovative and transformative solutions for our current age. Ada, National College for Digital Skills, will be opening its doors to its first cohort of students in September 2016. Ada is located in Tottenham Hale, and the college is one of the first of its kind, dedicated to providing post-16 education to coders and creatives wanting to help shape the digital age.

Tower Lifts has been asked to install a standard, screw drive platform lift, with two stopping points in Ada’s brand new educational space. The two-storey Tottenham Hale building has been designed by RIBA award winning architects to provide a suitable learning environment for the nurturing of tech talent. We are delighted to be installing a disabled access lift as part of this exciting educational development.

Wheelchair Platform Lifts for Disability Access

The design for Ada College maximises the space available by creating large, airy spaces that are versatile and spacious. Whilst architects wanted to ensure access for all students to both floors, they didn’t relish the idea of losing space to a traditional lift shaft. We were able to provide a solution in the form of a disabled access lift which is free-standing, has the spatial capacity to accommodate wheelchair-users, and contributes to the contemporary style and feel of the college environment.

As a sought-after provider of vertical transport to the educational sector, Tower Lifts is delighted to be able to offer a range of disability lifts, available as standard or bespoke platform solutions dependent upon the spatial configuration of the operating environment. Our platform lift range offers versatility of design and scope; our step platform lifts offer vertical transport to wheelchair users over short inclines, whilst our curved and straight platform lifts provide a smooth and elegant transport for wheelchair passengers up flights of stairs between floors. Our vertical platform lift is designed for a range of passengers, including wheelchair users, asthma sufferers, and passengers with visual impairments.

Safety First for all our wheelchair platform lifts

The reputation of Tower Lifts has been built over more than a decade by placing the safety of our passengers before all else. Our engineers and installers are highly qualified and safety aware; we are a UKAS certified company as well as being ISO9001:2008 Lift Cert.

In addition to Wheelchair Platform Lifts, we can also install a variety of lifts in bespoke configurations, throughout the UK including:
